JOBS>>>Remember a few years back, shopping centers everywhere, full of all kinds of retail stores with a variety of products and services. Local industry and manufacturing, commercial construction aplenty. It took years, generations, to grow to such diversification................ECONOMIC DOWNTURN................Disposable income dries up. Business's close, store fronts empty, jobs are lost, homes and investments lost, production slows......................Any noticeable improvement will take sometime. The complex and interdependency of everything was created over a period of time, with many separate success's and failure's. A realistic view of any recovery will require much patience and fortitude. Private entrepenuer's will meet the need for goods and services only after there is a market to purchase and consume. Our Government needs to address our failing infrastructure and other important endevors, the income earned by these workers will commence a cycle of demand and supply.
It's almost like the chicken and the egg, which comes first. What is now in the private sector is a fraction of the past. Something needs to start the consumer spending here in the USA, earned income. Then business will start up again and flourish to meet demand..

Radical Islamic Clerics stirred up their masses citing scriptures justifying jihad against none believers. All religions have sought after the oppressed and disadvantaged, offering hope, salvation, purpose and group identity. Non - Muslims, seeing centuries of exploitation and abuses by Muslim religious leaders, Muslim political leaders, Muslim regimes and monarchies. Said abuses, being murder, execution, torture, sexual, physical, and mental against their own people. The women and children are most vulnerable. Recent rants by Muslim leaders of Bahrain, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran, Pakistan, Libya to name a few, has done little to ease distrust. I see good in the Muslim people. They like all of us wish to live life to its fullest here in a democracy. All people must keep respect for others and not impose ones, or degrade anothers, beliefs.

The detached oligarghy lost its humanistic fabric, sacrificing the loss of countless lives, maiming of many and great loss of worth, in their pursuit of a grand plan. Commitment to sworn oath, military service personnel, shouldn't have to participate in frivolous endeavors. The international community , the UN, must lead, so no nation be the lone equalizer.

Speaking of religion, while raised Catholic, I always maintain respect for the power of belief. I am greatly saddened by the Church's involvement in abuse. All societies on this planet are guilty of the exploitation and abuse of women and children. Abuse knows no borders. Many countries do not take this issue seriously. Presently there is a strong contrast in ideology and law. Comes down to it, all religions are cults, rules by people, for their agenda..... Praise The Lord.....Amen and Women. Gregory Askew The challenge is to name a religious community that hasn’t dealt with manipulation and abuse. I wager not a one. Faith is perhaps best practiced alone and on one’s own terms because once a group dynamic takes hold that’s when the hurt happens.

The Evolution of the Survival Mindset into Capitalistic Greed

Ironic, sad, not at all funny, lastly resolved to amusement. Long time business as usual, get the most from the least, be a product or service, half truths and deception throughout all aspects of our experience. Illegal emigration thrives due to cheap labor for generations. America's growing population with high aspirations, yet still, that element of exploitation, thrived and persists in our society. War and suppression hardens a person to where survival, the basic instinct of Human Nature rules. Economic War is happening. Many now have had years of struggle, with no sign of help. Loss of work income, home, retirement savings, and general devaluation coupled with rising prices. Some have had good fortune and luck and have slipped through with minimal loss and will likely remain secure. Others, well above poverty, with diverse resources, have sustained losses also. Greed has brought America to its knee's. Fair compensation is essential, excessive return only creates a unnecessary burden. Flagrant concealment, tampering or manipulation of important documented facts , also legal loopholes which bypass rules and laws, are temporally successful, sometimes criminal, and at times accountable by law. Years of legal work to expose fraud in Enron, Insurance, Bank and housing mortgage failures. Madoff, Stafford, Halliburton, Blackwater USA (Worldwide) Xe Services LLC to name a few high rollers.

The future of America needs direction and action now. We must stop the foolish bickering, not stall for a preferred leadership, but use the tools and system in force now. 1-26-2011

Poverty here in the USA, urban, suburban and rural has long been. Forced into wanting, yet hopeful. Many aspects of ones daily needs have been stressed lately to new limits. The Rest of, US, us (non-union workers)

Unions did have a positive impact on worker opportunity and rights, that elevated even non-union. Today, many employer-employee relationships are "At Will ", non- binding for either party, terminate, quit, no liability.
As I understand it Wisconsin's Union workers have a very good income and benefits. Perhaps all Unions, their constituents Nationally, should consider some reasonable sacrifices. First and foremost Politicians, Government, Business & Corporations need a sincere lasting example to set. 02-28-2011

Virginia Incident

This week is the 26th year that has passed since a not so happy experience in my life. It was a Friday evening, returning home with co-workers from a bar, The Thirsty Camel. Northbound on 95 in Richmond,Va., interstate covered with heavy smoke, Shock-o-Slip was a fire. Our windows open, we quickly closed them, yet the smell and soot affected us all.

Not long thereafter we arrived home at Woodman West Apartments, A HUD subsidized complex. Had a good buzz on, my hunger was met by a wholesome pasta dinner. Suddenly, I was made aware of a nearby apartment fire. Ran there, guided 5 people out and carried a paraplegic friend down a stairs to safety. Then, I went home only to collapse nearby. Smoke got the best of me. I was taken to the hospital, blood gas test, steroids to help clear lungs, night spent there. I was given vaporizer to help clear lungs.

Monday, followed up with a doctor visit. He stated that it would take a good week for my lungs to clear out the soot. Regrettably, the pressures of poverty, substance abuse, alcohol and other factors clouded my judgment.

That afternoon Police Officers were at my door to serve a Warrant. I refused to open the door. Being a misdemeanor offense they were powerless and not able to force entry to affect the arrest. I'm ashamed to admit that the Warrant was of a domestic dispute origin. Not much time passed before many Police, Fire and media about. Un -be-known to me an individual had alleged that I was in possession of an arsenal with radical intent. !!! NOT!!! No telephone to speak with authorities, spoke through the closed door. Being depressed by current events, I foolishly refused to come out.

The Officer in charge agreed to locate my wife, four children, sister and attorney. My requests were left unmet. Henrico County SWAT, was there on standby, along with fire personnel. And all this out of my view. Fear of a mistake by authorities, I decided to lay low. Sun up, I came out freely.

Court that morning, the Judge ordered that there was a need to establish my competency to stand trial. Remitted to State Hospital. I landed in the Cuckoo's nest.Docs wanted to medicate, however I refused, stating there was no need, and that any med would cloud my true self. Three weeks pass, sent back to County Jail.

Those three weeks are a whole other story. I had a lot of time to think things out. Visited by Ellie and kids, both at Central State and County Jail. Quite a bit of writing and poetry. The day after the Thanksgiving Holiday, at Court, charges were dropped. After 43 days of incarceration I was permitted to return home to my family. All very thankful!............................CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE IS A TOUGH ROAD; I've traveled our country, family in tow, with my share of personal baggage, outraged to witness the hungry-homeless-medically needed, have lived in many different locals, did speak and write, been selectively scorned and jailed frivolously with civil and constitutional violations by existing fascist municipalities, confronting these inequities for 43 years, and will continue to do so............... What lies on the otherside , not pleasant, symbolic value with a needless price. Resourceful though and planning will, in time, be successful, without violence on both sides
