Harsh crackdown on demonstrators does fail, but with a heavy price for both sides. Qaddafi (Libya) pushed his luck. Yemen, its turmoil, also being a haven for Islamic extremists, unlikely will see intervention for some time. Tunisia in transition yet. Lebanon also in the flux. Syria using deadly force against dissidents and Iran, consistently testy. Afghanistan and Pakistan continue their ambiguity. India supportive. Palestine assertive. Israel, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and UAE all have strong US ties, oil and/or military business.Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Muslim Brotherhood are of opinion also.
